Looking for weight loss motivation? Good, I’m here to help. In the next few minutes, I’m going to share a few ideas with you that literally have the power to change your life. T

hat’s a big promise, I know! But, if you think about the tremendous health impact of losing weight, you’ll come to see that I’m not fooling around here!

Here’s the problem: the information to lose weight is out there. It’s not the HOW we struggle with, but the WHY. That’s where weight loss motivation comes in.

I’d like to outline 4 tips that will really help you stay motivated on your quest to lose weight. Let’s dive in!

Tip #1 – Ramp it Up – Real change happens over time. This fact isn’t very glamorous, but it’s absolutely true. You should have a plan in place to lose weight, and celebrate each tiny little victory you have. Start out very small, and just focus on building up a little at a time. Don’t go for the monster workout on day 1, just make a commitment to go for a walk. Once you get in the habit of walking, you can make it a little more intense. A little bit every day wins every time. The same thing goes for eating: don’t try to completely change your diet overnight – you want be happy and I can almost guarantee you will fail. Instead, start by deciding to cut out donuts in the morning, or to cut out cokes. By implementing changes slowly over time, you will have a much better chance of staying motivated.

Tip #2 – Always Keep Food Around – Creating a sense of panic about food only leads to bad things, like eating junk. To combat this, make sure you have a supply of healthy snacks for weight loss always around. Don’t be afraid to stock your car and your area at work or school with healthy snacks. A funny thiing happens when you know there’s always food around: you won’t crave it as much!

Tip #3 – Track Your Progress – How will you know when you get there if you don’t know where you’re going? First you need a plan to lose weight, and then you need to track that progress over time. The longer you do this, the easier it will get. I promise! Just get started and be absolutely pig-headed about not quitting.

Tip #4 – It’s Not All About Weight Loss – Ok, we haven’t met, but I’m willing to make a guess: if you’re fighting with weight issues, I would bet there’s something else going on in your life that you need to address. Stress from work, shame about something, depression, and countless other issues can lead you to eat more than you need. Your issues and demons may be tough to face, but if you find and address the SOURCE of your eating habits, you will be incredibly motivated! This is one of the most difficult (but effective) tips for weight loss motivation I can offer.
